Immunizations

Influenza immunizations!

Flu immunizations for 2008-9 will begin in October or November.

As always, no charge for Medicare Part-B patients.   Pneumonia vaccination is provided year-round as is also no cost for our Medicare Part-B patients.

We offer other vaccinations year-round:

Pneumonia (Pneumovax) - $50

Tetanus / Diphtheria (Decavac) - $40

Typhoid (Vivotif = 4 capsules) - $60

Hepatitis A / B (Twin-Rx) = 3 step series
 - Day 1  ($125)
 - End of 1 month ($110)
 - End of 5th month ($110)
   (total cost = $345 or $325 if paid up-front)


Insurance Coverage:

Medicare Part-B:
As always, the influenza vaccination and pneumonia vaccination are available at no-cost for our Medicare patients. 

Other Insurance Coverage:
Vaccinations can usually NOT be billed to prescription insurance coverage by a pharmacy.  Sometimes, they can be billed to your medical insurance, but you will need to contact your medical insurance provider for details.  You will need to pay up front and we will provide a receipt for you to provide to your insurance provider.

All Vaccines are considered prescription items.   Please bring your immunization record to your appointment. Our pharmacist can write a prescription for the tetanus/diphtheria, pneumococcal, and influenza vaccines.  All other vaccines, including Hep A/Hep B, typhoid, and Zostavax, require a prescription from your physician.
